The mission
We are Disciple Fitness. Our mission is to create workout gear for Christian men to promote Christ and his word through a mindset of strength. We believe that the physical development of men is essential for the future of Christianity. We are simultaneously standing up to both the rampant gluttony and spiritual apathy present in our society. God needs men to stand up and acquire the strength needed to be strong leaders of their families and communities. God made us in his image. If you call yourself Christian, then its about time you started acting like it.
Those who Do Not Exercise Limit Themselves Spiritually
Your soul and body are deeply connected. God designed the nervous system throughout your body to be interlinked with your brain. If they are separated you will die. Life is going to contain suffering. Even if you are a normal guy doing all the right things, life will throw you a curve ball. Making the proper sacrifices and getting strong now can prevent you from having to suffer more than necessary. You need to get physical. Not getting physical is affecting your mental health in a multitude of ways you cannot even realize until you start. You don’t even need to take our word for it. Just look up the well established literature on the effectiveness of exercise in fighting mental illnesses like depression and anxiety.
The Path to Fitness is The Fight Against Gluttony
The American culture we live in has increasingly become more gluttonous over the years. The CDC states that 73.6% of American adults age 20 and older are overweight. With 41.9% of adults 20 and older considered obese. Our culture puts an excessive amount of thought and attention into indulging in foods that are not good for us. Causing us to fall out of shape, and incur health problems that could have easily been avoided had we been more responsible in our consumption. This gluttony later down the line creates unnecessary medical bills and financial burden on our families. Gluttony is a unique sin in that its effects on your soul are visibly apparent in your body. You carry the consequences of your sin around with you everyday. It has a direct impact on your mental health. It has an even greater impact on your connection with Jesus. Stop pretending your soul and your body are two separate entities. Its time to say enough to gluttonous behavior, and live a life of fitness in accordance to what God wants for you.
A Lack Of Physical Activity Is Selfish
Being voluntarily unfit is selfish and going against the vision of Gods kingdom. God wants you to exercise. He needs you to become strong physically so you can more easily bring your thoughts into alignment with him, and begin to walk with him. He is calling you to become strong so that you can lead yourself and your family through the trials and tribulations of life. If you have the opportunity to help others, but are limited by your strength, then you are not living up to your potential. Not everyone has the opportunity to exercise, but if you do, and you don’t utilize it to become stronger you are falling short of the ideal. You fall short because you fail to grow in your abilities by making the proper sacrifices. You need to do more. You need to get physical. You need to walk with God on a journey of self-improvement and fitness.
We are called to spread the word of God
If you look around the modern day gym one thing is apparent. Most people are wearing clothes that either have nothing on it, or a have very neutral, minimal, unoffensive designs. Designs often made by athletic companies that are either indifferent or outright hostile to Christ and his teachings. These companies have been brainwashed by modern secular thinking, and often do not promote the same values that Christians believe. They aim to reach the broadest audience possible, so they can obtain the largest amount of profit. We are taking a different approach. As disciples of Christ we are called to spread the word of God. Disciple Fitness apparel is a solution for Christians who would like to wear something that is comfortable to workout in, while spreading powerful messages from the Bible. A message that invites others to ask questions about Christ so that they too can get to know him better.
